Mark your calendars for the next vernissage at the Visual Voice Gallery:
ZONE – monoprints from Mexico
Saturday, Febuary 13, 2010, 3:00pm – 6:00 pm
The exhibition ZONE is an investigation of the neighborhoods of three Mexican artist – Ana López-Montes, Mariana Escribano, and Miguel Angel Cordera – highlighting the unique landscapes and stories of their city. The three artists chose the medium of monotypes as their means of expression. This artistic technique derives from the tradition print-making and is a process which creates unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.
The ZONE exhibition was previously shown at Espacio Mexico, the gallery of the Mexican Consulate in Montreal.
See more of the artist’s work on the Visual Voice Gallery website:

Our Haiti Aid benefit event has already filled two large donation jars with bills and coins – a big THANK YOU to everyone who has dropped by the gallery to have their portrait taken for this good cause! Tolee has had a few hundred photo sessions already with art lovers prowling through the Belgo. But people have also been stopping by specifically to have their family portraits taken, so we’ve had a lot of kids bouncing through the gallery space, which is a lot of fun.
This event continues for another week, through to February 6th, so you still have time to visit the gallery and have your photo taken for a donation to the Red Cross and Oxfam. Bring your significant other, your kids, your dog, and take a photo for hope.

The HAITI AID – A Photo for Hope event has kicked off at Visual Voice, and the first pictures are in! We’ll post some of our photos every few days, hoping to entice you to drop by the gallery and have your portrait taken by the fabulously talented Tolee Brossemen for a donation to the Haiti Earthquake Disaster Fund. Proceeds will go to the Canadian Red Cross and Qxfam. Take advantage of this opportunity to have your picture taken by a professional photographer and help the victims of Haiti at the same time.
See you soon!

Welcome to 2010!
The Visual Voice Gallery launched about three years ago, and we decided that it was time for a bit of an upgrade. We sanded the floors. We painted the walls. We got ourselves a snazzy new door sign. And now: a new blog. While we LOVE our website www.visualvoicegallery.com, we felt that we needed another outlet to share our news, photos, and media coverage, and also give you a chance to comment on all the amazing creative work that’s being exhibited here in the gallery.
So, please add us to your favorites, or rss us, and don’t be shy about leaving comments!
